Kerry Community College Announced as Winner of Canon Summer Giveaway Initiative, Securing 2 Brand-New Environmentally Friendly Printers for their school.

Castleisland Community College, a co-educational, multi-denominational and multicultural school set in the heart of Sliabh Luachra has just been announced as the winner of the, Summer Mini Draw. The school has been awarded not one, but two state-of-the-art printers that will significantly enhance their educational environment.

This Summer Mini Draw giveaway, organised by, and supported by Canon Ireland is an extension of the annual Education Mega Draw CSR initiative.

Castleisland Community College proved to be a worthy recipient among numerous competitive entries for this draw. Geography Teacher, Elaine Murphy stating that, ‘It would help the students with their classroom-based assessments and overall, improve the quality of their presentations and further their learning abilities. Our school would be over the moon to win these printers and they could be such a valuable resource to us.’

The new printers, generously supplied by, and supported by Canon Ireland, are equipped with cutting-edge features that will empower not just the Geography students of Castleisland Community College, but other classes in need, further elevating their educational capabilities.

The two printers to be installed in September will be the Canon GX3050 and the GX6050, are ideal for schools as they use refillable ink technology which is more efficient & economical to run than traditional ink cartridges and colour laser printers. Also highly energy efficient, Canon G & GX series printers contirbute to lowering the school’s overall electricity consumption in the longer term.

The school will experience huge savings on the total cost of ownership with their advanced printing technology and multifunctional capabilities. These printers streamline administrative tasks and serve as a valuable resource for students and teachers.

“We are really excited to win not just one but two printers for our school” expressed Elaine Murphy, Geography Teacher. “We have been facing issues with having just one printer for the whole school and organising printing for students when needed. As a Geography teacher, certain teaching aids must be printed such as maps and surveys so the students can learn and understand markings etc. We can really elevate our student’s quality of education and are looking forward to using them in the next academic year.
